Cole unexpectedly committed suicide and his parents weren’t sure how to proceed but came to me for some guidance. I felt the stone needed to convey unfinished business and have some cowboy flair. The tablet uses starbursting to direct your eyes heavenward and leave you with a rough, unfinished feeling. The cross was ground with an angle grinder to make it whiter than the rest of the stone and indicate the importance of faith to the Allen family. Cole’s actual boots were used to mold and then cast in bronze. The patina matches his boots exactly. Those boots, coupled with the steer wrangler engraving personalize the memorial.
