Designing a religious monument for a rural cemetery was a fun experience. This client wanted something that would be eye catching, meaningful, and special. We created the open cross to reflect their religious element. The rose bands around the family name and between the inscriptions on the front added a soft subtle element that filled space as well as added purpose for the family name panel. With adding the verse on the front “I will always be here with you, all you have to do is call my name and I will be there.” the monument seems complete, but adding details on the back truly completes the personal tributes special to their hearts; Dad’s love for golf; Mom’s love of the beach; and the words on the back – mom’s forever saying to her children. The choice of granite was also deliberate using American black with soft veining to add to the overall monument concept.
