My customer lost her husband at the young age of 44. She thought she would remarry, plus she had limited funds, so she chose at the time to just place the government provide bronze memorial for veterans. She never did remarry and decided to have her cremains buried in his grave space when the time comes. She wanted to keep his veteran bronze plaque, because he was very proud of his service but wasn’t sure how to include her name and information on a single space. Plus she wanted to have his nickname included on the new memorial since that is the name everyone knew him by. The solution was to take up the existing marker, place it on a granite base and place an upright “bridge” style memorial over the bronze. This way all of her desires were met.
