This is a 36” tall companion monument in Carrera marble with a small bronze tree positioned on the platform of the cut out of the piece.
Jeff’s wife Pauline passed away from a long illness and the “open” area of the tablet (the cutout from the circle) is meant to represent/symbolize the “missing” other (life partner). In the opening is a small tree which represents a renewal/rebirth.
A bronze element with two reeds and leaves positioned on the top of the base represents two persons in the outdoors
Etched on the top of the base are two silhouettes paddle-boarding towards one another – an outdoor activity that Jeff and Pauline were very actively engaged with.
