Mr. Ford would kick off the ADK balloon festival by lifting off from my high school football field when I was a student there. After 40 plus years as a balloon pilot, Tom Ford has passed down his balloon to his grandson but asked that we memorialize his passion on his monument. The wind texture on this monument accents his balloon design as well as his unique tri-corner basket. Both of which were accurately reproduced. Equally important to the Ford family was their involvement in the community theatre.
