This mother was overwhelmed with grief for her only daughter, who tragically died in a boating accident. When I met with her she was telling me on the day that her daughter died a butterfly landed on her shoulder, and on the day of the funeral, a butterfly landed on the casket. So she really wanted butterflies all over the upright. I went to my computer and drew this up, she was overcome with relief and grief when she saw the proposed monument. I wanted to give her a pop of color, so we got very small glass inserts in the butterfly’s wings.
