As a runner, T.J. was often in race mode. He ran track in high school and continued to run competitively in young adulthood. Several years ago, T.J. went missing, this small marker carries many years of wondering and hoping. Without the closure of answers, the decision to have variation in texture and leave a small section rough, represents the hardship of having a piece missing from their family. The diagonal lines and runner’s trail create movement throughout the stone representing a journey home.
