The Kruesel memorial was designed for Gary and Rita who loved the outdoors and wanted it to embody that without being too ostentatious. Along with being set in an older section of the cemetery it needed to fit on a single grave space. I love the old tree style memorials but wanted to design something a little different. We didn’t want it to be perfectly symmetrical, yet we wanted it to have balance. It shows the different layers of bark, representing their personalities (though different they fit/work together) , a broken branch symbolizing loss along with the rings of the tree on the ends, showing their life. It is all one solid piece of granite with a polished raised family name.
