My Aunt and Uncle who are Barre manufacturers asked me to design their monument for Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT. The monument had to reflect their strong religious beliefs and at the same time exhibit their ability to turn quarried rough blocks into finished monuments (hence the drill holes in the block). My Uncle had a larger-than-life personality and so the large letter “L” was appropriate for his design.
