Being educated by clients is one of the things I love best about what I do. Designing with limited knowledge of other culture burial rituals expands my skills. This sarcophagus was designs with Persepolis motifs. The Sphinx relief: showing a seated bearded male winged sphinx facing right with raised left forepaw, wearing divine horned head-dress with band of rosettes below the feathered top. The sphinx was originally one of a pair flanking a winged disc figure of Ahuramazda, with paws raised in veneration. The sphinx is between vertical lotus flowers. This design is seen in many Persepolis themes. The side walls complete the sarcophagus carved with mourners. The 4 corners are carved with columns. The capstone is an apex top to help limit any debris from collecting.
