My client was struggled picking between a classic and modern design. I told her we could attempt to combine the two and this was the result. The three separate pieces of granite (Impala Black for the front and back, Sierra White for the middle) represent the three deceased relatives and how they each buttressed and supported each other (each of the pieces of granite would have a tough time standing on their own). The hole in the middle represents the hole left in her heart with their passing. The overall design is very modern and the bronze lettering looks almost out of place when compared to the engraved lettering. The bronze, being an old metal and old-looking font, is the classical portion of the design. The classical portion was intended to take a backseat to the modern yet still compliment it. The design definitely catches my eye and the client liked it.
