My client wanted a double heart memorial…and I hate double heart memorials. The final design gave her the hearts she wanted while giving me a chance to try something new. The Jet Mist heart for her husband is 4″ thick and has a starburst pattern meant to convey his toughness and hard work. Her heart is 3″ thick, smaller and has a subtle shape carved flower to indicate their size difference (her husband was a big man!). The two hearts are epoxied together and hers sits on a beautiful black base with bronze lettering. The two Strassacker vases compliment the surname. The base has a whimsical margin which really helps add some softness to the overall design. The tapered edges simply enhance that feeling.
