Judy Terry walked into her local monument dealer with a Paul West design from West Memorials that she liked. When I asked for details about her husband’s life, I realized that we could do a better job of telling his story than using a design that was created by someone else, for someone else.
The first thing Judy mentioned was that Randy always wanted to be buried beneath a tree. The Strassacker bronze tree was the perfect way to ensure his wish was granted.
Randy was a firefighter and first responder who served multiple departments throughout his life. He was also a devoted family man, preferring to spend his free time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.
It was clear that Randy’s place on earth would be missed deeply not only by his family but also by the people he served, which is why the design for his monument includes a negative space teardrop.
